Daytripping Toledo, Segovia & Avila

This is our ninth video in the Iberian Peninsula series. This video covers our day trips from Madrid. We visited Toledo, Segovia and Avila, which are all three definitely doable as day trips from Madrid. All three towns are worth a visit with lots to see and do while visiting. In Toledo we wandered around the old town and got lost several time but that is part of the fun. The Toledo Cathedral is beautiful, the Jewish Quarters are particularly medieval looking and the Visigoth Museum is worth a visit (BTW it was free). While in Toledo, you need to stop by the Convento de San Clemente and order some mazapán from the cloistered nuns (they were delish). The town of Segovia was also very interesting with its spectacular Roman aqueduct ruins.  Segovia’s old town is also very lively with its Plaza Mayor. The souvenir and window shopping in all three towns is particularly fun definitely better than in Madrid. And finally we visited Avila with its impressive medieval fortifications. The vista of the town surrounded by its majestic walls is worth the drive. We loved exploring and walking around these UNESCO recognized towns. We saw many unique things and appreciated the way residents kept the old town vibes and traditions. I hope you enjoy the video!
