Vale Madrid - Part 1

This is the seventh video in our Iberian Peninsula series. In this video we finally make it to Madrid. Visiting Madrid has definitely been on the Bucket List for awhile so we were very excited to be there. In this video we enjoyed walking many of the popular Madrid sites and plazas. Upon arriving in town, we quickly discovered our favorite tapas place on the famous Cava Baja street. The street is like tapas Heaven because of all the popular tapas restaurants found there. A trip to Madrid would not be complete without a Churros and Chocolate outing and we had ours at the very popular Chocolateria San Gines. We also marveled at the buildings, stores and wall of humanity found all around Madrid and especially on La Gran Via.  We loved wandering through the many plazas you can find throughout the city. Of course, we spent time in the huge Puerta del Sol Plaza, where we found the infamous Oso y el Madroño (Bear and the Strawberry Tree) statue. We attempted to touch the Bear’s butt for Good Luck, not sure we actually did but got real close to the target. We also strolled by the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de Toros. We found time to explore the Madrid Metro and we did not get lost. We also did some shopping in the Mercado de San Miguel and found many delicious Spanish treats like olives, cheese, ham and wine.
