Tot de Tarragona

This is our sixth video in the Iberian Peninsula series. In this video we are visiting Tarragona and its surrounding area. Tarragona area sites can be visited from Barcelona as a day trip and we recommend doing just that, so add a full day to accommodate these sites. A person could easily spend 5 to 7 days in Barcelona enjoying the city and the surrounding areas. In this video we enjoyed walking the old town of Tarragona. We marveled at its various first century AD Roman ruins like the Amphitheater and the City Walls. We loved wandering through the main plaza and seeing the cathedral. Nearby was the medievel village of Montblanc which we were able to visit on Sant Jordi Day. It is in Montblanc where the famed Sant Jordi slayed the dragon so of course we went looking for the spot where it happened. We also explored this wonderful village's quaint medievel streets, sights and vibes. We truly enjoyed spending time in Montblanc and highly recommend a stop if you get the chance. We also visited the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Poblet Monastery. We definitely thought it was worth the visit. The site is lovely, historic and very serene. Finally on the way to Madrid, we drove through Valencia for a quick lunch and peek at the famed city. I hope you enjoy the video!
